Nationale 2 - 13th Round leaves Artantia Larochette undefeated still!!! - Dec 13, 2017

Last weekend was the 13th game-day in Luxembourg's Nationale 2. Arantia Larochette (13-0) is the only team to remain unbeaten. Avanti Mondorf hung in there during the first half, only down 8 at intermission. Arantia Larochette, who is destined to go undefeated in N2, scored 69 second half points on the way to a 117-77 romp at home to improve their record to 13-0. Xavier Pollard led the way hitting 5 three pointers on the way to a 34 point effort. Walter Clark scored 23 and Trent Weaver led all scorers with 36 for Mondorf. Ladarius Tabb added 31. Sam Ferreira threw in 18 points. Mondorf travels next week to Schieren Black Frogs and Arantia Larochette plays on the road at Black Star Mersch.

Telstar Hesperange handled Black Star Mersch (5-8)to win 98-70 at home to improve their record to 9-4 as they continue to pursue a playoff spot. Black Star, who continues to play with 3 American Imports, lost their second straight. Their Luxembourg players scored 13 points while their three imports totalled 57 of their 70 points in their losing effort. 22 points for John Irwin, 19 for James Fleming and Duane Johnson added 15. Telstar had balance in there scoring with Prince Foster 24, Tom Donnersbach24, Pierce Cumpstone 19, Chris Muller 10 and Eric Wagner 10. In the next round, Telstar will host Zolwer and Black Star will entertain Arantia Larochette.

The third place team BC Mess (9-4) had an easy home victory over Black Frogs Schieren (0-13). Black Frogs' Stefan Stefanovic's one man show failed in spite of his 9 three point 43 point effort to keep his his team without a win in 13 tries. Max Brouscher was the only other Schieren player reaching double figures with 11 points. BC Mess had a huge first quarter and coasted to a 22 point victory. For BC Mess who has won 4 games in a row, Richard Ross killed inside again with 31 points. Brett Morris added 14, Giles Weis 13, Noe Melchoir 12 with 4 three pointers.

Kordallsteelers were up at home vs Grengewald 55-43 in an offensive uptempo battle. Grengewald, who is still keeping playoff hopes alive, brought in a new import Ronald March Jr. he dominated on the scoring end with a huge night with 7 deep threes leading the way back in the game in the second half with 46 point total. Shaquille Dance scored 32 points veteran Yannick Julien added 12.

Antonio Bivens led the winners with 38 points followed by Marcus Neal with 35, Max Schmit 21 and Sascha Muepu 13. Winning 7 of their last 8 games and scoring over 100 in their last 5 games, Kordallsteelers seem to be well on the way to be a playoff contender for a shot at going up to the total League for the first time in the club's history. They must however get it together on the defensive end as the giving up over 85 points per game. Up next for Korfdallsteelers will be a home game vs BC Mess who they lost to in the first round on the road. For Grengewald, they must travel to Bascharage to play against the Hedgehogs who are currently 5-7 and in 7th place in N2.

The AS Zolwer (7-5) vs Bascharage (5-7) match was postponed due to a huge snowstorm last Sunday in Luxembourg.

In the Playdowns to see who will remain in or go up to the Total League for next season, all teams remained in there same positions as last week. Racing Luxembourg won with only one of their two imports against Telstar. BC Mess got a big win at home against BBC US Hiefenech Heffingen. Kordallsteelers played their worst half of the season but still remain in a good position with the Telstar loss to Racing Luxembourg. The last round of the National 2 Qualifications were played last weekend. Four teams emerge to the top and will now fight to go up to the Total League for next season. They are: Arantia Larochette 18-0, Kordallsteelers 15-3, Telstar Hesperange 11-7 and BC Mess 10-8. Here are the results of the final round. It's official! Arantia, Kordallsteelers, Telstar and BC Mess now make the playoffs to see who goes up to the Total League for next season! It came to a special criteria between the clubs of BC Mess and AS Zolwer, the 4th and 5th place teams tied with a 10-8 record each. They each won their games against each other at home by ten points.
