Rebecca Akl
After five exciting rounds of WLBL action. We break down the top players for Stage One of the Women's Basketball League. Stage Two will start December 9, 2018.

Below we rank the top five local players in stage one.

5. Chirine El Charif (185-C-84)

Riyadi / Center

WLBL Stage One Stats: 8.0ppg, 7.3rpg, 1.0apg, 6- (1.3bpg)

Breakdown: Chirine El Charif minutes are down this season based of the signing of the import center. But her number show pure dominance under the basket. In just 19 minutes per game Charif is averaging over 7 rebounds and a block. This is an amazing stat in her per minute per game percentage. The national team center continues to prove why she is so valuable to what Riyadi does as a club.

Charif best game was 12 points, 10 rebounds and 3 blocks versus Energy Sporting Club.

4. Nancy Maalouf (174-G/F-88)

Antranik / Forward

WLBL Stage One Stats: 9.7ppg, 8.0rpg, 3.0apg, 2.0spg

Breakdown: Maybe a shocker to the list is National Team forward Nancy Maalouf. She has made such an impact on the Antranik team to give them the third ranking in the league. Her defensive ability is by far the best in the WLBL. Not only can she shut down local players; Antranik depend on her abilities to stop import players each night.

Maalouf best game was 14 points, 10 rebounds and 3 steals versus Hoops Club.

3. Aida Bakhos (175-G-86, college: Lamar)

Al Riyadi / Swingman

WLBL Stage One Stats: 5- (23.0ppg), 7.6rpg, 2- (5.0apg), 1- (4.0spg)

Breakdown: It was such a toss up between Bakhos and Moukaddem of Riyadi only because of her fire. Bakhos is one of the most exciting players to watch in the WLBL. One of the only Lebanese players to attend a NCAA Division 1 university (Lamar). She has become a fan favorite and it is well deserved.

Bakhos best game was 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists versus Antranik.

2. Lama Moukaddem (174-G/F-90)

Riyadi / Combo Guard

WLBL Stage One Stats: 14.0ppg, 3.7rpg, T3- (5.0apg), 2.0spg

Breakdown: Some may question the top two positions but they are so so very close. But Lama is going to be the second ranked local player in the WLBL. She is currently ranked 2nd in scoring and first in assists among Lebanese players. Lama is one of the best shooters and creative players in the league. She continues to prove why she is one of the more popular players in the game.

Moukadden best game was 21 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists versus Hoops Club.

1. Rebecca Akl (169-PG-92)

Homentmen / Point Guard

WLBL Stage One Stats: 8- (16.0ppg), 4.8rpg, T3- (5.0apg), 5- (2.0spg)

Breakdown: Rebecca Akl continues to dominate in the WLBL. She continues to stop her naysayers with her bigtime play in big time games. Last round versus the WLBL powerhouse Riyadi; Akl scored 18 points and dissed out 6 assists. Rather you love her or hate her she is still the MVP of the WLBL.

Akl best game was 26 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists versus Chabibeh.
