After two defeats from Kosovo (72-68) and Estonia (80-76), the players of the coach Jordanco Davitkov finally clinched the first win at the pre-qualifiers games for the upcoming World Cup in China 2019.
For the most part the first quarter the Macedonian team was looking for the game and they were in a negative. After the starting lead of 13: 9, Kosovo took the initiative and was almost always in the lead, most marked with a six point difference (39:33). At the finish they made pressure and reached only one point negative of the break (40:41), but that was an announcement for what was coming in the sequel.
Stojan Gjurovski (201-F-91) started the second half with five points (one triple) and he was the reason that the Macedonian team reached 10 points difference (55:45).One should not forget Aleksandar Kostovski who played the best match in the national team and also contributed greatly to the creation of a high advantage.
Kosovo did not surrender, it reached -3 (54:57), but by the end of the quarter, and especially in the last period of the game, the Macedonian team clinched the win (87:74).

In the end, Jordan Theodore (182-PG-89, college: Seton Hall) was the most effective with 24 points, Aleksandar Kostovski added 16 with five triples of eight attempts, while Damjan Stojanovski (198-SG-87, agency: BeoBasket) added 14 rebounds and four steals. The next game is played on 16th August against Estonia.
