Blake Poole
Blake Poole (195-C-88, agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement, college: St.Martin's) plays for BG Dorsten in Germany in the Pro B league. As a rookie fresh out of NCAA 2 St. Martin's University, Blake is in his european rookie season. So far he puts up some impressing stats (15.2ppg, 12.8rpg, 2.7apg, 2.3spg in 37.6 minutes per game).
BG Dorsten Head Coach Torsten Schierenbeck has only good words for his big man: I told him from the beginning, what I need out of him all season long: rebounding and low-post presence. Nobody could have expected, that he would play that great. His passing skills are outstanding and his positioning and feet movement under the basket are just incredible.
Blake Poole also was twice named Eurobasket.com Player of the week this season already. He graduated from NCAA 2 St. Martins University in 2011. Because of a stand-out senior season (19.3ppg, 11.6rpg) Poole was the GNAC Player of the year and was named to the NABC All-American Team and NABC All-Star Game. In the summertime he suited up for Bellingham Slam of the IBL, producing 12.5ppg and 11.6rpg and was also named to the IBL All-Star Game.

Eurobasket.com Germany had the chance to speak with Blake:

How does it feel, playing professional basketball in Germany?
It feels great to play basketball in Germany. Just being able to continue my passion and experience a great culture at the same time has been amazing.

What can you tell us about the BG Dorsten club, team and organization so far?
BG Dorsten has been great. I'm playing with a good group of guys. We are all on the same page wanting to win and get better. The chemistry of our team is really high, we get along great. Management is really involved and supportive.

How is it playing for coach Torsten Schierenbeck?
Torsten has been a great coach. He knows when to be laid back, but also knows when we need to step it up. He knows the game and always puts us in the right places to compete.

How do you feel since getting the Player of the Month award for your great performances in November? Did anything change?
Since getting player of the month I think I feel the same. I'm still competing along side my teammates and we are still battling day after day at practice. I appreciate the honor, but as a team player the only thing I'm worried about is getting wins.

What can we expect from yourself and your club in 2012?
In 2012, you can expect BG Dorsten to compete every time we touch the floor. We feel that we are in every game and are ready for any challenge.

Where do you see yourself in the future? What are your plans for the next 10 years?
For my future, I would like to play basketball as long as I can, continuing to get better and competing. Basketball is my passion, so I know my future will have something to do with this sport.
