Tennessee Dragons agreed to terms with 25-year old American forward Thomas Shewmake (6'9''-C-84, college: Cal.St. Northridge). Shewmake most recently played with BC Arges Pitesti in Romania where he decided to leave due to lack of compensation.

'It was a situation that no player wants to be in,' said Shewmake. Romania is a beautiful country and I would have loved to play there but maybe its best that we part ways.

Shewmakes best game came against BC Timisoara where he played 32 minutes and posted a season best 11 rebounds to go alongside his 15 points. Before he left the team, Shewmake scored a season high 19 points and pulled down 9 rebounds in his final game.

Now, Shewmake will join the Tennessee Dragons of the UBA to prove his worth. The Dragons have already sent star forward Richard Jeter to KK Lirija (FYR Macedonia) after the season opener.

The Dragons are now 2-2 and need an inside presence like Shewmake. 'We need Thomas, said head coach Steve Dolan . He can be an all-star this season and sign with a country that will use him the way we will. I feel that Thomas is a great talent and we will take full advantage of this situation.

Shewmake will arrive in Nashville Dec. 29. He will debut with the Dragons against the Georgia Lions.
